Description
Create a visually engaging, temporary, outdoor artwork to be unveiled at Home of the Arts Gallery, Queensland Australia. The temporary artwork must address a series of considerations: -The work must endure the outdoor elements for a ten day period. -The installation must have a strong presence during both the day and the night time in order to accomodate events taking place all hours of the day. -The artwork must evoke a sense of wonder and awe, acting as a drawcard for the gallery over this period. -The artwork must occupy a significant footprint in the identified area and the artwork is to be large enough to hold attention in the outdoor built environment. -The artwork is to be a contemplative, uplifting experience and offer a distraction from the current COVID climate.Atelier Sisu
Atelier Sisu is an award winning Sydney-based art practice, lead by Peruvian sculptor and industrial designer Renzo B. Larriviere and architectural designer Zara Pasfield. The pair work with a multi-disciplinary team to create experiential environments, installations and unique sculptural pieces. Their direction of work sits between the fields of art and architecture (art-chitecture), with particular focus in the realm of public art. Each public artwork aims to provide a unique spatial experience for its visitors, while also contributing to the visual identity of a place.
