The comprehensive renovation of this residence in the Nervión neighborhood in Seville stands out for its emphasis on aesthetics and respect for the nature of each material. Oak wood is used for the flooring, and the walls maintain the traditional fine plaster to preserve the essence of the original dwelling. The ceiling moldings have been preserved as well.
Spaces are opened up and connected through two large arches framing each area, such as the living room and workspace, with the dining room taking center stage. The kitchen, also open to the dining area, is crafted from oak wood and Macael marble. An antique bakery table serves as the central island without imposing too much visual weight.
The openings of the old air conditioning machines have been transformed into niches or light windows framing external views, refusing to close them off, a conscious decision to maintain a connection with the surroundings.
In the main bedroom, the completely open bathroom is entirely covered in microcement. The bathtub, designed in the studio and constructed with microcement, is adorned with antique lanterns owned by the client. The sink, carved from Macael marble imported from Almería, is a substantial hollow block accompanied by a mirror that was already present in the original residence, fitting seamlessly as if tailor-made. This approach emphasizes the reuse of existing elements, adding sentimental value and a historical connection to the design.
BENDITO ESTUDIO
Interior design studio based in Seville with a desire to reach every corner of the world.
We chose Seville because it embodies pure essence, much like our projects, emphasizing the use of natural materials and timeless products.
One of the most repeated words in our studio is ‘respect’—respect for the original, respect for materials, and above all, respect for the dwelling and its essence. We take pleasure in preserving the richness of the past and reusing when it makes sense.
The art of projecting the appearance, function, and production of a functional object through graphic symbols, whether it be two-dimensional or three-dimensional. Interior design is the design discipline involved in shaping the experience of interior spaces, manipulating spatial volume as well as surface treatment.
Bendito delves into the complete design of spaces, paying attention to every detail and addressing all needs without compromising the overall aesthetics.
