Lynk & Co was created to provide mobility solutions for the connected generation. We do make really, really good cars (the kind that have all the features you want without you having to ask for them), but we also offer a new way of using those cars. Our membership-based approach makes it simple to get on the go. Members can access a car on a flexible, month-to-month basis and share with friends, family, and the Lynk & Co community.

When it came to creating the ideal office environment we knew we need something with the same unique approach, we aren’t a traditional car brand, so we didn’t want a traditional HQ.

Drawing inspiration from cities and the urban traces left by the people who live in them, the result is a very different kind of office with a rough and unexpected expression where design meets re- and upcycled material and furniture. The building itself is visibly inspired by brutalism with the bottom of the building reminding you of a concrete bunker with crenels for windows, while the top is made in a modern, black glass fashion.

When it comes to the interior, easily the most prominent “wow” lies in each of the many conceptual meeting rooms. The idea behind them is to inspire, surprise and provoke thoughts outside the box, all the while linking back to the theme of cities and how a city is ever-changing and can offer a surprise with every turn you take.

The interior space is designed by New Order Artkitektur together with Lynk & Co. During the six years since New Order started the studio has grown from two to ten persons and completed over 40 projects in various scales – from furniture to breweries, offices, restaurants, clubs, showrooms, shops, a library and a playground.

Each project that New Order undertake is unique, but the approach is always the same. Significant for our completed projects has been participation and collaboration from day one, and that nothing has been left to chance. A great part of every project is unique, custom-made production. That is their strength, and it has made them stand out in the field and led to close ties to some of Sweden’s finest smiths and carpenters. This, in turn, has allowed them to develop accurate methods that are time- and cost efficient and enabled them to hit right on target with our client’s ideas, visions and budgets. The key words for achieving a fantastic project are: it should always reflect the business, and feel unique.

Having two companies so aligned in their ethos made the interior design of the Lynk & Co headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, such a successful project.

New Order Arkitektur

Having worked successfully in the past with New Order Artkitektur on both the Gothenburg and Antwerp clubs, the brief from Lynk & Co to New Order Artkitektur was simple. Work alongside Lynk & Co to create an unexpected space. To inspire, surprise and provoke thoughts outside of the box, all while linking back to the theme of cities and how a city is ever-changing, offering a surprise with every turn you take. The key words that resulted in achieving this fantastic project were: it must always reflect the business, and feel unique.

We encourage designers and architects to share their best projects with the rest of the world so as to inspire the next generation and gain global recognition.
