Sometimes the past is so contemporary.
Expormim has gone back to those days with the intention to recover that typical braided chair of the Mediterranean and thus the reedition of the “Lapala” seating collection, a modern classic designed by Lievore Altherr Molina Studio in 1998 and distributed at the time by a company belonging to Expormim’s same cluster.
Conceived for those charming patios and cozy terraces where the borders between the indoor and the outdoor space get diluted, “Lapala” helps create a unique space through its beautiful neat lines and discreet elegance. Thanks to being made of polyester rope, thoroughly hand-woven upon a stainless steel frame, it provides high resistance to harsh weather conditions, which makes it so suitable for outdoor while still looking like a chair you would place on a living room. The project includes a dining armchair, a dining chair, an armchair and a stool, all of them equally combining simplicity, lightness and versatility. The updating of “Lapala” is also translated into a significant increase of comfort due to improved ergonomics. With this project Expormim underlines once again the high value of tradition and craftsmanship. “Lapala” fits nicely both in domestic and hospitality arrangements. Features like its soft gentle curves and its stackability guarantee its adaptability to any environment. Who better than seasoned professionals like Alberto Lievore, Jeannette Altherr and Manel Molina to retrieve this collection and make it look fresh new and so very young?
