This specialized beer shop’s concept includes not only selling craft beer, but also serving as a tasting bar. A unique feature of this store is its art installation, which is made from glass tubes filled with liquid that glows in the color of beer in order to brand the store. As a result, the project’s name is “Light Meets Liquid”. The installation begins at the place where the beers are poured, mimicking that they are coming from them, goes up the pipes and ends at the window display. The intention is to attract the attention of passers-by and arouse curiosity even among those who do not drink beer. That is why this retail should be located in a lively neighborhood with a lot of tourists and residents. Especially suitable are main streets like Camden town and Brick Lane in London. The foundational component is the Body, consisting of glass tubes, which exists in industry as part of distillation equipment. The material was chosen because it is transparent and best shows the color of the beer. The second element is Light-the led strip positioned in the center in the tube. It helps the more attractive perception and presentation of the installation. The purpose of the installation is not only to be beautiful, but also to play the role of a lighting fixture in the room. The ceiling is concrete, as it is good for the background to be light in color so that the colors variation can be seen well. The third vital element is Liquid. The store’s interior design, seamlessly blending vintage and industrial styles, drawing inspiration from the renowned 19th-century Steampunk aesthetic characterized by anachronistic technologies and retro futuristic inventions. Adjacent to the beer taps, a coffee machine of the same style complements the overall decor. Pipes are intricately integrated throughout the design, forming the construction of shelves, hanging beer shelves, hangers, and lighting fixtures. The primary color and material palette comprises copper, steel, concrete, wood, and glass. Neon tubes adorn the exterior sign and the one above the toilet, harmonizing with the installation’s form and style. On one long wall of the store is printed a board with a diagram of the beer production process, including the equipment used in the production. Some of them are present in the room adding to the authentic atmosphere – you can see the beer filtration container behind the bar on the left, and the fireplace for the winter period is custom made in the same style. They interact extremely well with the chosen steam punk design. The location of the printed board was chosen there as additional experience of customer during tasting. Establishing the perfect ambiance is crucial for shop owners aiming to attract and retain customers. The right lighting, décor design and product variety can all together contribute to the overall atmosphere of the establishment.
