The school complex for 550-625 students is located in the area near the historical part of the city on the site of the stadium. Complex site has an active landscape – up to 6m. Total area of the building is 15400 sq.m.
The school concept is predominantly formed around an atrium-formed public space. The building consists of an elementary school block, a middle and high school (oriented on the insolated sides of the facades), a block of laboratories, physical education and technology and a school museum, as well as a block of canteen and auxiliary rooms. Central atrium directly adjusted to all recreational spaces and the assembly hall. The atrium connects directly the entrance from Svobody St. in the highest point of landscape with the recreational area in the lowest point of landscape (providing a connection to the adjusted open recreation and sports spaces). The sports area of the school is adjusted to the recreational zone of the historic riverbed and the existing municipal stadium, which expands the opportunities for sports activities and forms a unified recreational and sports space.
The entrances and checkrooms of the high school and junior high school are separated: for the high school – are organized on the side of the pedestrian recreational urban space formed on the site of the historic riverbed, for the junior high school – on the side of Svobody St. from the second floor level due to the landscape difference. The playgrounds for older and younger school-aged children are also separated. Public space for events is organized from the side of Svobody Street.
The two-storey block for art classes and the school museum are located on the site of Svobody St. on the spot of historic wooden buildings, demolished years ago – so with the opposite site of Svodody St. with cultural and historical heritage objects (Museum of the History of Youth Movement) they should recreate the characteristics of the environment.
