The homeowner’s property originally consisted of three bedrooms and a smaller living room and kitchen that lacked storage space. To address these issues, a design team was brought in to create a more relaxing and natural environment by separating the living space from the urban setting. The team utilized material placement and spatial mobility rearrangement to derive a LOFT tone and reconfigure the space into a three-bedroom home with a larger living room. The configuration of living spaces underwent a transformation to incorporate the intrinsic qualities of nature and introspection, as influenced by different elements. The utilization of a singular, translucent material, such as light and shadow, made a significant contribution to the spatial organization and channeled energy, thereby reducing visual complexity resulting from a spectrum of colors. This produced an environment of tranquility that mitigated perceptual strain and instilled an ambiance of tolerance and relaxation within the daily routine. To establish a more comfortable, hospitable, and congenial atmosphere, the entrance was devised as a suspended shoe cabinet that utilized gray mirrors and specialized paint. Additionally, the entryway was designed to meet the practical needs of the space. The back wall of the sofa captured visual attention and hence display cabinets were fashioned with placid hues that served as both spatial ornamentation and a focal point for the observer’s gaze. The living room’s primary wall was adorned with panels that emulated natural stone, lending it a rustic and coarse texture. Moreover, the terrace-facing wall was draped in verdant foliage, establishing a peaceful and serene ambiance. The flooring was composed of SPC wood, a highly stable material that was resistant to thermal expansion and contraction. Its waterproof, moisture-resistant, and ultra-wear-resistant properties made it a suitable choice for households with young children. Moreover, the wood flooring imbued the space with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. gradually merged the internal rationality and sensibility to create a coherent and unified space. Furthermore, the shared living area was mostly open, penetrating through the entire space and setting the tone for the overall design. In addition, the chosen color scheme for the shared living space was predominantly of a deeper color or material. On the other hand, the natural texture of different materials and the gradient effect were planned to create layers and balance the vision with other elegant texture materials. The cabinets, doors, and fans had been walled and hidden, thus weakening the sense of existence of these components. Besides, the design of the lighting was given much importance to continue the visual continuity while ensuring a large amount of storage space and achieving a rich emotional experience for the users.
