Liyang International Wellness City embodies the art of serene living in the historic city of Liyang, capturing the essence of Oriental charm within the picturesque Jiangnan landscape of mountains, water, and farmland. Its experience center creates an aesthetic haven that unfolds an ideal life of wellness and tranquility.
The building’s protruded eaves lend a light and graceful appearance, welcoming guests across a small bridge into a bright, inviting foyer. Glass walls seamlessly connect with the roof, creating a sense of transparency that enlivens the entire space. The high ceilings, layered with natural warm wood tones, cultivate a peaceful atmosphere. Traditional Liyang bamboo weaving adorns the walls, infusing the space with a touch of wild forest charm. A jade stone installation introduces the dynamic flow of water, breathing life into the stillness of the space.
The dynamic space offers varying views at every step. Glass enclosures blur the boundary between interior and exterior, introducing the outdoor atrium garden into the building. Inside, The design emphasizes spatial sequence, with screens and doors enhancing coherence and integration of interior spaces.
In the negotiation area, simple timber structures embody the elegant beauty of the East through the purity of natural wood tones. Expanded ceiling lighting fills the space with soft light, creating a relaxed, vacation-like ambiance. The bar counter, featuring green-veined stone, establishes a serene atmosphere along with landscape accents, evoking a scene depicted in an ancient Chinese prose poem— “The moss creeping onto the doorsteps turns them green; the color of the grass reflected through the bamboo curtains turns the room blue.” The well-arranged lounge area connects to an atrium garden, providing a tranquil space to sit, enjoy the landscape, or take a leisurely stroll.
The staircase, paved with crystal stone, featuring a unconventional stacking design, adding a touch of natural interest and tranquility to the space. The second floor accommodates an independent book bar, designed on a large scale to create a sense of hierarchy, continuing the simplicity and elegance brought by timber and bamboo weaving. Tables, chairs, and a stepped lounge area are integrated, creating a versatile public space free from functional constraints.
On the east side, the private banquet hall creates an intimate atmosphere, while offering a seamless connection between the interior and exterior, providing panoramic views of the lake and mountains. The VIP tea room on the west side opens to an inner courtyard, offering a secluded retreat where the delicate fragrance of tea enhances the tranquility. As night falls, the interplay of light and shadow transforms the indoor space into a captivating scene.
