This oceanfront estate in Delray Beach, Florida, epitomizes luxury with its immaculate alabaster white color scheme and breathtaking architectural design. At the heart of this opulent residence is a rooftop lap pool and pool deck that offers uninterrupted coastal views. To ensure comfortable use throughout the day, despite the intense South Florida sun, a custom pergola was meticulously designed and crafted.

This pergola project presented unique challenges, particularly in securing it without compromising valuable space. The design team ingeniously utilized an existing perimeter wall to anchor the structure, fabricating custom baseplates and adjusting column heights to seamlessly integrate with the estate’s architecture. Featuring seven independently adjustable louvered zones, the pergola allows precise control over shade while preserving panoramic ocean views. The louvers, mounted parallel to the lap pool, create complementary shadow lines and maintain visibility of the sky.

Crafted from pure, new aluminum, the pergola showcases exceptional material craftsmanship. Using uncontaminated aluminum ensures enhanced strength and durability. Each piece was precision-cut by machine, pre-drilled, and ready to assemble, ensuring perfect alignment and fit while minimizing construction time. The aluminum was powder-coated to guarantee a beautiful, long-lasting finish that seamlessly matches the estate’s alabaster exterior.

To ensure the pergola complemented the estate’s existing roofline, its height was set at 8’ 9”, preventing it from appearing as an afterthought. The motorized louvered pergola, which opens and closes with ease, was chosen for its sleek lines and ambient LED lighting, further enhancing the pool deck’s elegance. Fully extruded integrated gutters keep the area dry while concealing drainage, preserving the clean lines of the design. Dual-walled louvers offer superior protection from the elements, and smart sensors adjust the pergola automatically to changing weather conditions, providing effortless convenience for homeowners.
