The project aims to address and respond to the hidden social issue of left-behind children, which also highlights urban developmental disparities. It proposes repurposing the office tower into a residential settlement where these children can live together with their parents in the city. This initiative completes the commemorative theme by symbolically reversing the original intention of Shenzhen’s landmark building, the “China Resources Tower,” in the context of its rapid industrialization. By incorporating typological symbols from local Hakka and Guangfu culture residential architecture, along with suitable local plant species, the project aims to create a cohesive environment that integrates industry, agriculture, and daily life.
