The Vossagh project in Gonbad-E-Kavous, Golestan, Iran, is a harmonious fusion of architecture and the local climate. To create a comfortable and climate-responsive atmosphere, we embarked on a design journey focusing on key climatic considerations. Our primary challenges revolved around managing heat, humidity, and optimizing natural light.

Given the southern orientation of the building, direct sunlight posed a substantial challenge, leading to increased indoor temperatures. In response, we developed innovative solutions. Elevating the structure from the ground was the first step, enhancing moisture drainage by raising ceiling heights and incorporating air transfer openings. This strategic adjustment not only alleviated humidity issues but also improved overall comfort.

In addition to addressing climate-related concerns, our design prioritized the vital connection between humans and nature. Spaces were meticulously organized in a hierarchical fashion, facilitating a deeper interaction with the surrounding greenery. Green spaces thoughtfully positioned in the front, middle, and rear of the house enriched the ambiance, infusing the project with a profound sense of spirit.

Our design for the Vossagh project aims to deliver a sustainable, pleasurable living experience that harmonizes seamlessly with the region’s climate and fosters a reconnection with nature—a vital yet often overlooked aspect of modern life.
